Team Lead Shift Operations

We are looking for a seasoned operations professional to lead coal yard activities at our Columbia plant in Pardeeville, WI. This is a high-impact role where you’ll guide a team of union-represented employees, oversee critical fuel and landfill operations, and help shape the future of energy generation. If you have experience managing shifts, working with bargaining unit employees, and driving safety and efficiency in industrial environments, we want to hear from you. What You Will Do
Performs all leadership duties, including hiring and rewarding talent, fostering an inclusive and safe workplace, partnering with employees to set clear goals and expectations, providing timely and specific feedback on performance, developing improvement plans to address performance gaps, addressing conflict with care and respect, identifying opportunities for growth and development, embracing and modeling a mindset of lifelong learning, ensuring employees report to work fit for duty, adhering to our Code of Conduct, and modeling Alliant Energy’s Core Values at all times. Directly participates in the development of plant-specific goals and objectives. Continuously monitors performance against financial and operating goals and communicates the information to employees. Ensures that employees understand and accept business unit and plant/unit financial and operating goals and guides them to focus efforts on achieving goals. Demonstrates leadership in safety, including observing and enforcing safety rules and operating practices, encouraging safe work behaviors, and promptly correcting unsafe conditions and behaviors. Administers and monitors safety programs and performs safety assessments. Plans, assigns duties, and supervises employees on the shift, ensuring duties are performed in accordance with established plant policies and procedures. Leads the implementation of process improvements and recommendations with a focus on critical processes and systems. Ensures that all aspects of plant operations comply with environmental rules and regulations. Engages in other duties as needed to support Alliant Energy’s Values and our purpose to serve customers and build stronger communities. Education Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related area preferred. Required Experience
3 years of related experience. Preferred Experience
Experience in manufacturing maintenance or mechanical/electrical engineering. Demonstrated experience working with labor union management. Other Requirements

Knowledge in manufacturing or electrical plant operations preferred. Knowledge of layout, equipment, and operating requirements of a generating station or manufacturing plant. Effective leadership and supervisory skills preferred. Financial skills such as budgeting and basic accounting preferred. Interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Proficiency with computer software (e.g., e-mail, word processing, spreadsheet, project management) preferred. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and inclusive work environment. The pay range for this role is $83,000–$114,000, and the final salary offered will depend on responsibilities, experience, skill set, internal pay equity, and other relevant qualifications.
