The Day Habilitation Manager assists the Day Habilitation Coordinator in the daily operation of the dayhab center including staff supervision, treatment planning, and maintenance of the physical plant to ensure quality services to all individuals and assists in maximizing the functioning of developmental disabled adults.

Responsibilities include:

Managing DHS work tasks and assignments with the residence and as it relates to the day-to-day tasks in both the dayhab setting within the community.

Providing direct assistance to the consumers on a daily basis within an OPWDD DH Program environment.

Tracking DH goals and writing daily and monthly notes to file.

Providing hand-over-hand care, mentoring, teaching independent living skills & role modeling.

Assisting in maximizing the functioning of mentally/physically handicapped adults.

Ensuring quality services to all individuals within the dayhab setting and in the community.

Providing staff supervision and oversight of the dayhab in conjunction with the Day Hab Coordinator or in the absence of the Day Hab Coordinator.

Collaborating with interdisciplinary team on treatment/behavioral plan and overall care of individuals.

Maintaining scheduling of medical appointments, medication records, and ensuring treatment orders are implemented.

Ensuring behavioral support plans are met according to the plans.

Attending semi-annual, annual, and special meetings at schools and/or day treatment programs.

Communicating professionally with schools, residences, and day treatment programs.

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or a related field, preferred.

Skills and Experience:

Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in OPWDD related field, including 2 years in a supervisory role within a dayhab setting. Experience in residential, health, or treatment settings preferred.

Demonstrated competency in documentation, communication, and computational skills.

Flexibility to work a varied schedule to accommodate client needs and team meetings.

Communication Skills:

Ability to articulate the organization’s philosophy, mission, and goals effectively.

Effective presentation of information to clients, management, and staff in verbal and written formats.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to perform basic math operations.

Reasoning Skills:

Problem-solving using logical thinking.

Ability to work independently within guidelines.

Organizational and prioritization skills.

Maintain confidentiality of information.

Physical Demands:

Ability to communicate clearly and operate routine office equipment.

Travel to various sites as needed.

Work long and irregular hours, including weekends.

Read data and documents in print and digital formats.

Provide physical care and restraint if necessary.

Work Environment:

Noise levels typical of office, educational, or health environments.
