Bland Landscaping Company . The Commercial Grounds Branch Manager is responsible for overall planning and performance of a Commercial Grounds Management Branch. This position handles Administrative and Management functions to support the Branch, including managing Account Managers, Production Managers, Enhancement Manager, and Enhancement Designer/Estimator. The role requires strong leadership, a solid work ethic, the ability to inspire others, and a solid understanding of Commercial Grounds Management. Other duties may be assigned by the Regional Director. This is a supporting position for the Regional Director. Responsibilities
Management: implement policies and procedures related to CRM, administration, enhancement design, installation, and commercial grounds production managers; balance quality work with profitability using KPI reports; develop positions from Level II–VI through coaching with assistance from the Regional Director, Operations Managers, and Recruiter; foster team cohesion; facilitate bi-weekly branch meetings with a set agenda submitted to the Regional Director. Horticulture: implement and supervise all horticulture aspects on job sites through Account Manager and Production Manager teams; continually improve horticulture knowledge through education, seminars, and engagement with universities and industry leaders. Administration and Accounting: purchasing, invoicing, inventory, billing and collections; review open work order reports and close out appropriately; measure and submit monthly branch inventory to Controller; budgeting and cost controls; forecast labor and material budgets using company systems; ensure data integrity in BOSSLM mobile timesheets, inventory, and work orders; manage equipment inventory with Regional Director and Managers; ensure adherence to accounting policies; ensure Operations entries are made using BOSSLM for scheduling and tracking. Personnel/Production: oversee Production Managers for interviews, hiring, orientation, training, procedures, performance reviews, and terminations; manage headcount and hours with KPI tools and seasonal adjustments; forecast HR needs using BOSSLM reports; ensure monthly budgeted hours are forecasted and acted upon; implement and manage safety programs with guidance from leadership. Sales and Services: maintain effective customer relations through Account Manager team; promptly address client concerns; retain minimum contract retention targets; review price increases and approve contract renewals; promote Enhancement and Commercial Grounds Management sales; track sales pipeline and retention using required reports. Miscellaneous: coordinate with other Managers to advance the company; ensure branch lockup/security; oversee repairs to facilities and assets with approved vendors; manage vehicle and equipment repairs with Branch mechanic and Operations Manager; ensure safe operation of all company assets; manage driving records for approved drivers; stay at the forefront of the landscape industry; manage subcontractors as needed. Required Skills
Must have a 2- or 4-year degree in a related field and equivalent supervisory experience (preferably within Bland Landscaping Company). Hands-on knowledge of ground management and installation procedures. Stay abreast of industry and market trends. Ability to bend, kneel, and work outside in all weather conditions; ability to work around bees, poison ivy, pollen, thorns, ice, and other environmental risks. Adhere to Bland Landscaping Company policies; possess and maintain a NCDA pesticide applicator’s license; valid NC Driver’s license with a good driving record; strong communication and motivational skills; assist in training of employees; work well with customers; seek continuing education opportunities; network to promote the company.
