Overview
Maintenance Manager position at Karman Space & Defense. The successful candidate will oversee the maintenance department, the preventive maintenance program, daily maintenance, repair of machinery, facilities and moving vehicles, and will manage maintenance personnel to keep equipment in good, safe operating condition. The role requires strong safety focus and alignment with Karman policies and procedures. Compensation
Base pay range: $110,000.00/yr - $140,000.00/yr Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Maintain and realize AS 9100 procedures and continuous improvement efforts. Oversee safety operational procedures and preventive maintenance of equipment. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Own the Preventive Maintenance program (PM). Train and maintain safety performance to OSHA and internal safety procedures. Maintain manufacturing equipment, tools, and ensure they are in good, safe operating condition. Schedule maintenance personnel activities and ensure assignments are done correctly and timely. Coordinate repairs requiring outside suppliers. Acquire and maintain all City, County, State and Federal permits. Facilitate OSHA, Fire, State/Federal agency, Insurance and City inspection audits. Understand how customers’ products are impacted in the event of failure. Understand safety impact of facilities, equipment and vehicles controlled by OSHA regulations. Other duties as assigned. Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent. Relevant years of experience in repairs of tools and manufacturing equipment as determined by Karman. Experience monitoring preventive maintenance programs as determined by Karman. Five (5) or more years of supervisory experience. Working knowledge of CNC machines and ability to perform repairs. Strong background in machine maintenance and manufacturing safety. Strong background in the use of Maintenance X or equivalent software. MS Office proficiency. Knowledge & Skills
Detail-oriented, highly organized, with good communication skills to interact with Suppliers, Management and staff. Working knowledge of manufacturing equipment repairs, electrical applications, and preventive maintenance programs. Knowledge of plant layout and installation of equipment and machinery. Knowledge of hazardous waste, safety applications and training to safety standards. Direct communication with internal customers. Awareness of applicable changes and customer requirements. Familiarity with QMS reporting, record keeping, and instructions. Awareness of applicable statutory/regulatory regulations in building, grounds and machinery record maintenance. Physical Requirements
Constant standing/walking/sitting for extended periods. Occasional pushing, pulling, lifting up to 50 lbs (minimum 35 lbs). Dexterity for keyboard and office equipment. Vision requirements; corrective lenses may be used. Prolonged repetitive movements and continuous hand use. Occasional overhead reaching. ITAR Requirements
