This full-time position is located in the Facilities Department at Community College of Aurora and provides ongoing and preventative maintenance for buildings and grounds, ensuring efficient, quality service for the staff, faculty and student body. Position will operate a variety of equipment and tools to maintain the campus buildings and the work will cross between multiple building trades. Specific duties include: Light carpentry, painting, drywall repair, hanging bulletin boards, whiteboards and pictures Assist maintenance staff with HVAC maintenance including filter changes, coil cleaning, greasing motors and changing belts Make minor adjustments to the building automation system as directed Assist maintenance staff with electrical maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing plumbing systems Assemble new office furniture and move furniture throughout the college as requested Assist with large event set-ups and other duties as assigned Assist with snow removal and sweeping entry ways Utilize a computer to complete timesheets and leave requests, read/respond to email Utilize Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word) for calendar/email/communications Operate state vehicles as needed Collaborate effectively as a team member Responsibilities and Work Environment
Position will cross between multiple building trades and may require working outside standard hours to meet departmental needs. Work hours are from 1:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. May require occasional shifts outside regular hours. Minimum Qualifications
Experience Only: Two (2) years of experience in the structural trades, including carpentry, electrical, painting, plumbing and HVAC. Do not use "See Resume" statements; provide detailed work experience. Part-time experience pro-rated. OR Education And Experience: Successful completion of an apprenticeship program or higher-level coursework from an accredited vocational/trades school may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis. A copy of transcripts must be submitted with the application. Conditions of Employment: Must possess and maintain a valid State of Colorado driver's license; pre-employment background check including MVR. On-call for essential/emergency services. Physical requirements include exertion up to 100 lbs occasionally, up to 50 lbs frequently, and up to 20 lbs constantly; frequent climbing, bending, kneeling, reaching, and other physical activities to perform essential functions.
