SUBSTITUTE - ON CALL
POSITION:
Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)
TYPE:
On call as needed. These positions work Monday-Friday.
COMPENSATION:
Range 7; Schedule M; Step1: $29.53 Hourly
TYPE OF RECRUITMENT:
This is an
OPEN
recruitment to establish a
list of substitutes
for the classification of Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN). No effort will be made to maintain a rank order of the applicants (P.C. Rule 60.100.5).
TESTING PROCEDURE:
The examination process will consist of an evaluation of the supplemental questionnaire and an oral interview. Applicants will be notified of their status via email. Those selected to participate in the oral interview will receive additional details, including the date and location, once the schedule is finalized.
DESCRIPTION:
Under general supervision of an assigned administrator and technical supervision from the School Nurse, performs specialized health services for students in regular and special education; performs a wide variety of nursing duties in support of the school health office, including specialized health care procedures, first aid, screening of ill or injured students and emergency care, administration of medication, maintenance of health records, specialized physical health care procedures in accordance with physicians' orders, and preparation of reports. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
High School diploma or its equivalent. Successful completion of a training program in Vocational Nursing is required. Experience:
Six (6) months experience working as a Licensed Vocational Nurse. Experience working with school-age children is highly desirable.
LICENSE REQUIREMENTS:
Valid California Vocational Nurse License. Valid First Aid and CPR Certification comparable to the Red Cross certification. A valid California driver's license.
