Sinai-Grace operates multiple outpatient care sites and ambulatory surgery centers. This description reflects the Nurse Extern II role and its responsibilities within the patient care services team. Overview
The Nurse Extern II (NE II) is a member of the patient care services team with primary responsibilities for technical, multi-skilled direct and indirect patient care activities. The NE II is assigned to work under the supervision of a registered nurse who delegates tasks based upon patient needs and NE II skills and abilities. The NE II will report all deviations from expected patient parameters to the registered nurse. Specific patient care tasks may vary by unit or service line based on patient population. The NE II will be assigned to an experienced RN each shift and will assist with patient care such as ADLs, vitals, ambulation and other duties within the scope of patient care tech or equivalent. The assigned RN instructs and mentors the Nurse Extern II in the assigned clinical area and provides ongoing feedback. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications Applicants can apply starting 6 months before graduation from an accredited school of nursing and must pass all senior courses to remain in the program.
