As a Clinical Pharmacist in Oncology, you will provide expert pharmaceutical care in both inpatient and outpatient settings, ensuring safe, effective and compassionate treatment for oncology patients. In the inpatient setting, you’ll round with multidisciplinary teams, collaborate with physicians on chemotherapy plans and provide evidence-based treatment recommendations. In the outpatient clinic, you’ll engage directly with patients—reviewing medication lists, managing side effects, answering questions and coordinating therapy adjustments with providers. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in patients’ cancer journeys while working in a collaborative, supportive, and innovative pharmacy environment. This is a PRN position.
A caregiver in this position will work between 8:00am to 4:00pm with flexibility. Responsibilities
Provide safe, efficient, patient-centered and evidence-based pharmacy and medication services. Ensure the appropriate selection, dosing, administration and dispensing of medication orders. Verify medication orders and/or dispense medications accurately according to state and federal regulations. Document services in a complete, accurate and timely manner. Actively contribute to medication safety initiatives. Ensure all pharmacy operations are in compliance with national accreditation standards. Educate and train students, residents, other caregivers, and/or patients. Provide cost-effective care. Be accountable for drug use policy adherence. Minimum qualifications
PharmD or Bachelor’s of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy Current state licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) or eligible for reciprocation in current state within 90 days of hire Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross and completion of a Board of Pharmacy approved course in the administration of immunizations or certification within 90 days of hire for individuals administering immunizations Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within one year of hire for individuals responding to adult or pediatric cardiopulmonary arrest events Preferred qualifications
Board Certification Completion of a Post-Graduate Year 1 Residency (PGY1), fellowship or two years of relevant post-graduate pharmacy experience Post-Graduate Year 2 Residency (PGY2) or relevant experience for Pharmacists in a specialty field Physical Requirements
Typical physical demands include ability to perform the job while standing and walking for prolonged times, approximately 75% of shift and continuously for extended periods of time. Manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer and dispensing functions of the job; ability to lift up to 30 lbs. Position often includes reaching, stretching, stooping, climbing steps and sitting. Must have normal or corrected vision. Must have ability to clearly communicate verbally by phone or in person. Personal Protective Equipment
