Summary of Work Performed:
Under the general supervision of a supervisor or an employee of equal or higher rank, Mfg. Eng. Resource Programmer IV will serve as a subject matter expert responsible for effective design of manufacturing resources including: Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) numerical controlled (NC) programs, Manufacturing Computer Aided Design (MCAD) tools/fixtures, loft patterns, and operational models with associated 2D drawings. Must have knowledge of shop production and processing operations. Work in accordance with management strategies and concepts as well as program and departmental processes and procedures using Bell Business Systems. May direct, mentor, and train one or more employees.
Work Performed:
Interrogate, analyze, comprehend, and interpret various engineering drawings, models, bills of materials, technical specifications, quality documents, Bell process framework, and departmental procedures to perform assigned work.
Provide MCAD operational models and 2D drawings for manufacturing process planning sequences.
Support manufacturing operations as a process liaison when MCAD models with 2D drawings exist.
Develop, create, and maintain tooling/fixture definitions for manufacturing operations across all media types, including MCAD and manual legacy designs.
Create and maintain CAM programs and operator instructions for NC equipment.
Develop, create, and maintain Loft MCAD models, flat patterns, and associated digital tooling programs.
Possess working knowledge of NC programming, Loft, engineering, tool design, manufacturing, and planning processes.
Apply knowledge of GD&T and aerospace tolerances.
Assist in producibility assessments as needed.
Maintain records and schedules of assigned work.
Meet company standards for cost control, schedule, and quality to ensure market competitiveness.
Provide technical support to procurement and suppliers as directed by management.
Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with internal and external customers.
Leverage extensive aircraft manufacturing knowledge to train, direct, instruct, mentor, and validate production engineering work.
Participate in training and competency testing to stay current with technological advancements.
Educational Requirements:
Four (4) years of college education or eight (8) years of experience in the aircraft industry, with demonstrated ability to perform essential functions related to GD&T and aerospace tolerances.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are required.
