Summary of Work Performed:
Under the supervision of a manager or a peer of equal or higher rank, the Manufacturing Engineer - Resource Programmer IV will serve as a subject matter expert in designing manufacturing resources, including:
Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) NC programs
Manufacturing Computer Aided Design (MCAD) tools/fixtures
Loft patterns and operational models with associated 2D drawings
The role requires knowledge of shop production and processing operations. The engineer will work in accordance with management strategies, departmental processes, and Bell Business Systems. They may also direct, mentor, and train team members.
Work Performed:
Analyze and interpret engineering drawings, models, BOMs, technical specifications, quality documents, and departmental procedures.
Provide MCAD operational models and 2D drawings for manufacturing planning.
Support manufacturing operations with process liaison support using existing MCAD models and drawings.
Develop and maintain tooling/fixture definitions for manufacturing media, including MCAD and legacy manual designs.
Create and maintain CAM programs and operator instructions for NC equipment.
Develop and maintain Loft MCAD models, flat patterns, and digital tooling programs.
Apply knowledge of NC programming, Loft, engineering, tool design, manufacturing, and planning processes.
Utilize GD&T and aerospace tolerances concepts.
Assist in producibility assessments as needed.
Maintain records and schedules for assigned work.
Meet cost, schedule, and quality standards to ensure market competitiveness.
Provide technical support to procurement and suppliers as directed.
Communicate effectively with internal and external customers, both verbally and in writing.
Leverage aircraft manufacturing knowledge to train, lead, instruct, mentor, and validate production engineering work.
Attend training and complete competency testing to stay current with technological advancements.
Educational Requirements:
Four years of college education or eight years of experience in the aircraft industry, with demonstrated capability in applying GD&T and aerospace tolerances.
Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
