About the Role
D2Solar is seeking an
Engineering Technician
to support our engineering team in building, testing, and refining specialty solar products for cutting-edge technology companies worldwide. In this role, you’ll work closely with engineers on prototype builds, test setups, and experimental manufacturing processes. You’ll help turn new ideas into physical products by assembling, modifying, and troubleshooting components and systems, as well as performing tests to validate performance and reliability. Key Responsibilities Assist engineers in building prototypes, experimental assemblies, and test fixtures. Set up, run, and document engineering tests on solar modules, components, and assemblies. Perform wiring, soldering, lamination, alignment, and assembly of delicate components to engineering specifications. Modify and rework assemblies during the development process based on test results and engineering feedback. Operate and maintain lab equipment and tools used for assembly and testing. Record test data and assembly notes accurately in logbooks or digital systems. Identify and troubleshoot assembly or test issues, escalating complex problems to engineers for resolution. Follow all safety policies, company procedures, and use required protective equipment. Collaborate with engineers in a fast-paced environment where designs and processes evolve quickly. Qualifications Minimum High School Diploma; technical training or associate’s degree in engineering technology or a related field preferred. Hands-on experience with assembly, wiring, soldering, or mechanical builds (academic or professional). Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity for working with small and delicate parts. Interest in working in an engineering development environment rather than high-volume production. Good verbal and written communication skills for working with engineering staff and documenting work. Strong motivation to work with a small team and contribute to company growth. Ability to work on-site in a 9/80 schedule.
