Join Northwestern Medicine as a
Physician Assistant in Cardiac Surgery . This part-time position involves approximately 90% inpatient OR/floor work and 10% outpatient care, including rounding, first assisting in the OR, and outpatient clinics. Schedule:
2x12-hour shifts, rotating days off (most likely Tuesday and Thursday); occasional weekends/holidays in rotation with other APPs. On-call required, typically at least one of the scheduled days. Essential Functions:
Provide patient care, including diagnosis and management of health problems. Collaborate with physicians and health professionals. Develop educational materials for patients, families, and staff. Mentor students and participate in quality improvement and research. Responsibilities:
Assess patients through history-taking and physical exams. Deliver direct clinical care, prescribe medications, and order tests. Educate patients and document care in medical records. Refer and consult with other disciplines as needed. Participate in continuing education, quality initiatives, and serve as a role model and preceptor. Qualifications:
Required:
Master's degree from an accredited PA program, Illinois license, BLS, and ACLS certifications. Preferred:
Surgery, critical care, or OR experience. Benefits:
