Fresh Manager
– Leads and manages Fresh department (Produce & Floral, Meat & Seafood, Deli & Bakery) operations and associates to maximize sales and profitability. Creates a shopping and working environment that exemplifies the company’s service, quality and neighborhood partnership vision. Promotes customer confidence and loyalty through clean, compliant, and consistent operating conditions. Provides courteous and prompt service. Identifies talent and develops associates through proper training. This is a working manager position requiring a balance of physical labor, delegation, team building, leadership, planning, and administrative work. Key performance indicators
Overall Customer Satisfaction OSAT (Fresh): gauges customer experience in assortment, cleanliness, freshness, staff friendliness, and stock availability. On Shelf Availability: ensures processes are followed so customers can purchase their needs. Production Planning Compliance %: positions the department for strong sales by providing good information to extract the best data from the system. Essential responsibilities
Store Leadership : Leads and empowers teams to deliver a great shopping experience aligned with the company’s vision, goals, expectations, and policies. Maintains open communication for ideas and feedback. Values diversity and fosters an inclusive environment. Builds professional relationships with customers, associates, schools, vendors, suppliers, and regulatory agencies. 30% Fiscal Leadership : Manages in-stock conditions, inventory, shrink, and expenses including labor and supplies. Maximizes sales and profits through effective displays, ordering, scheduling, and work planning. Guides product and supply ordering, equipment setup, department organization, and vendor support. 30% Department Leadership : Delegates authority and accountability to department managers; trains and coaches on KPIs, stocking, customer service, product knowledge, suggestive selling, safety and sanitation. Communicates progress and recommendations. Ensures policies and safety codes are followed. 15% Associate Leadership : Supports hiring and training in fresh departments. Oversees recruitment, onboarding, and new hire training. Coaches and holds associates accountable, abiding by employment laws and company policies. 15% Safety and Compliance : Adheres to regulatory requirements (food safety, USDA & COOL, DOA). Manages recalls, safety training, PPE, and equipment maintenance. 10% Disclaimer : Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Qualifications
Education : High School Diploma or Equivalent. Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field. Language : English required; English and Spanish preferred. Experience : Supervisory experience 3–6 years minimum; 1–5 years minimum (context unclear in original; retained as structured ranges). Knowledge, Skills & Abilities : Authorization to work in the United States, ability to obtain required work authorization; successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check; proficiency with store software; strong interpersonal, motivational, and communication skills; food safety certification or ability to obtain within 180 days; high integrity and reliability; strong customer service skills. Retail - Location Management with required physical demands: standing/walking, lifting up to specified weights, various environments (indoor/outdoor, cold, hot, wet).
