Overview
The Buckeye Nurse Residency Program at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is a full-time, 6-month program designed to support new graduate nurses as they transition from nursing student to professional clinician. Cohorts are added monthly and residents have opportunities to develop critical thinking skills related to clinical practice and safe patient care, with the aim of developing new nurses as leaders and productive health care team members. Locations include University Hospital, Ross Heart Hospital, East Hospital, Brain & Spine Hospital, Dodd Hospital & Harding Hospital. Responsibilities
The RN/Staff Nurse functions as a member of a care team, providing patient care and supportive services aimed at achieving positive patient care outcomes. Assess, prescribe, implement, coordinate, delegate and evaluate nursing care for patients and their families. Provide leadership to the patient care team and help develop the capabilities of other team members. Qualifications
Graduate from a CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education) or ACEN (Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing) accredited nursing program. Current licensure or interim permit as a Registered Nurse in the state of Ohio (Ohio Board of Nursing). Previous experience in a relevant care setting preferred. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred. Additional Details
