The APM is responsible for assisting with estimates, schedule, cost and quality of assigned Dynalectric Oregon projects. This includes the planning and coordination of all aspects of the construction process, including material and equipment buyout, field supervision management/coordination, hiring subcontractors, implementing cost control measures and internal reporting to provide excellent internal/external customer service. Responsibilities
Work on estimating activities for projects (receive pricing requests from PM or customer, perform site walks, review project information with PM, produce estimates/proposals, and enter estimates into the tracking system). Manage WIP and bid-related tasks (receive requests, conduct bid assessments, perform job walks, review project information, prepare estimates/proposals per Dynalectric checklist, close with PM/DM/CEO, enter into tracking spreadsheet). Create and manage project/financials (build project budgets with phases and cost codes, determine material purchases and issue/level bids, manage subcontractor scope of work and RFIs). Identify and price cost/schedule impacts (design changes, schedule changes, other trade impacts, evaluate and price impacts, review with PM before issuance). Create and manage Change Orders (identify price/scope, provide backup, log changes). Provide monthly cost projections at WIP meetings (collect cost reports, project future costs, resolve issues, report status). Provide monthly progress billings (create schedule of values, review costs, obtain PM review before processing). Collaborate with project teams (lead/participate in project kick-off, attend internal meetings such as Prefab, QA/QC, Safety, and monthly department meetings). Manage contract documents (participate in contract review, ensure documentation control, Submittals, RFIs, change order logs, and P.O. tracking). Support project closeout (coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, and field personnel to provide O&M documentation, as-built drawings, and resolve punch list items). Uphold company safety and HR standards (ensure adherence to health and safety standards and participate in HR processes). Qualifications
At least 4 years of experience as a Project Engineer within the electrical industry or a minimum of 2 years’ field experience as a Foreman In-depth understanding of electrical construction and materials Proficiency or knowledge of estimating software – Accubid preferred Proficiency with MS Office Suite – especially Excel Proficiency with Bluebeam preferred Outstanding written and verbal communication skills Excellent organizational and time-management skills Must have valid driver license/insurance and reliable transportation Working Conditions
50/50 field and office based. Typical working hours may vary. Generally, Monday – Friday during normal business hours, but when deadlines approach they may be required to work longer hours, including some weekend work. Some travel may be required for training/continuing education. May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration, and a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites (weather, noise, etc.). Physical Requirements
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a project manager to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The APM is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds.
