Overview

We’re looking for a courteous and efficient veterinary practice manager to coordinate and manage all office administration procedures. The manager’s responsibilities include ordering, inventory management, coordinating schedules, resolving conflicts among office staff, training staff, and all other aspects which keep the practice operating efficiently. You should also be able to answer pet owners' questions regarding clinic policies, appointment availabilities, and treatment costs. Location: Culver City, CA. Employment type: Full-time. Compensation: $22.00-$26.00 per hour. This description reflects the original content and responsibilities as provided. Responsibilities

Make informal recommendations to the veterinary regional manager concerning personnel matters such as staffing needs, advancement, re-assignments, hours of work or other status changes affecting receptionists. Direct on-the-job training to develop employee skills, advise employees of performance requirements and their progress, discuss corrective measures to improve performance and prepare appraisals. Recruit/Hire/Onboard appropriate staff and terminate staff who do not follow guidelines, policies, and protocols; assist with job descriptions and salary setting. Market the hospital to prospective customers and the veterinary community by identifying and attending relevant local and regional events. Resolve informal employee complaints and maintain effective employee-management communication; interpret hospital policies and procedures. Obtain information from owners to complete records, give scheduling and treatment instructions, and relay practitioners’ orders for animal care and activities. Ensure pet owners’ complaints are promptly addressed and resolved. Prepare employee work schedules and manage the office staff. Answer telephone calls in a polite and professional manner. Establish inventory control for adequate stock of supplies; review prices; manage inventory including controlled drugs; handle returns. Manage and/or implement hospital policies, including DEA/Controlled Substances and OSHA. Ensure payroll is completed accurately and timely. Establish good vendor relationships for support. Promptly notify appropriate veterinary staff of emergency cases. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications

Experienced or CVPM with a minimum of 1-year management experience preferred or 3+ years veterinary experience preferred. Highly organized with computer skills. Strong leadership, communication, and motivational skills; ability to direct and assist a group of individuals. Ability to work well with all team members and align actions with hospital, doctors, and practice philosophy. Ability to show unbiased judgment in managing people and make fair recommendations regarding personnel issues. Knowledge of hospital procedures for assembling patient records and recording veterinary orders to maintain accurate patient information. Knowledge of veterinary terminology and English language usage for accurate records. Open availability with flexibility to change hours based on hospital needs. Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance knowledge and skillset. Additional Information / Benefits
