St. Vincent’s Health System . Department NICU Schedule Full time and PRN available Hospital UAB St Vincent's Birmingham Location Birmingham, AL Seeking a candidate willing to work 24-hour shifts. The NP will oversee and collaborate with the care team to develop care plans for acutely ill neonates. Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) certification through NCC is required. Master's degree in Nursing is required. In collaboration with a physician, provide expanded primary healthcare services by diagnosing and treating certain health conditions. Obtain patient history, perform assessments, order and interpret diagnostic studies, and conduct health screenings and immunizations. Provide direct treatment and management of health conditions, including prescribing medications or referring to other providers. Educate patients and families about health, treatment options, and community resources. Document healthcare delivery according to standards and policies. Licensure / Certification / Registration: BLS credential from the American Heart Association obtained within 1 month of hire. Certified Nurse Practitioner credential from the Alabama Board of Nursing prior to hire. DEA credential preferred. Education: Master's degree in Nursing required.
