The Main OR PreOp/PACU is a 38-bay department at Trinity Health Ann Arbor, with 20 PreOp bays and 18 PACU bays, supporting 20 operating rooms and a broad range of surgical services. The department provides care for inpatients and outpatients across multiple service lines and is supported by anesthesia staff 24/7. The organization is a Certified Joint Center of Excellence and a Robotic Center of Excellence. Location

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Trauma Care After Resuscitation (TCAR) Certified Perianesthesia Nurse (CPAN) Required Education And Licensure

Graduation from accredited nursing program. All new hires must have a BSN or agree in writing to obtain a BSN within five (5) years from date of hire or transfer to an RN role. Current Michigan Nursing License BLS Required Skills And Abilities

View patients holistically; consider physical, psychosocial, emotional, age-specific, cultural and spiritual factors. Demonstrate appropriate assessment skills for identified patient populations. Demonstrate critical thinking by gathering and analyzing patient information, then responding to patient situations. Develop, implement, evaluate and revise an individualized plan of care using evidence-based interventions and standards of care. Identify needs and plan for care across the continuum with patient and family preferences. Identify patient and family education needs. Develop and implement teaching plans based on evidence-based practice, using teach-back to ensure understanding. Plan for readiness for discharge in collaboration with other disciplines. Create an environment that promotes a positive patient experience. Communicate verbally and in writing (including EMR documentation) clearly and timely. Convey patient status, priorities and interventions to colleagues and other disciplines during rounds, handoffs, and consultations. Maintain good rapport and cooperative relationships.
