Job Summary Within the OR managerial structure, the trained Operating Room Tech assists in nursing care activities under the supervision of a registered nurse, performing scrub duties and specific institutional nursing services based on procedural knowledge and patient condition complexity.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in planning and implementing activities related to direct patient care, ensuring physical comfort, safety, and emotional welfare of surgical patients.

Collaborate with related departments to ensure optimal patient care.

Maintain principles of aseptic technique.

Prepare the operating room, supplies, and equipment.

Perform scrub nurse duties during surgeries to ensure asepsis and patient safety.

Assist the RN circulator with delegated duties.

Clean and organize the operating room between cases.

Prepare and care for equipment and supplies, including sterilization.

Recognize and respond appropriately to emergencies.

Participate in staff conferences and assist in training new personnel.

Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment following hospital policies and safety regulations.

Adhere to safety protocols, including sharps and Standard Precautions.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High School Diploma required.

Surgical Scrub Tech Certification required.

Minimum 3 years of experience as a surgical scrub technician, with experience in Neurosurgery, Orthopedic Surgery, and General Surgery preferred.

Ability to work as part of a team, relate well with others, and solve problems independently.

Maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
