Accountable for performing day-to-day non-clinical pharmacy operations and administrative activities where allowed by state and federal laws/regulations; ensure efficient pharmacy workflow and a positive patient experience. Serve as a full-time certified pharmacy technician. Operate pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. Under the supervision of a pharmacist, supervise pharmacy technicians and pharmacy cashiers within the guidelines of authorized company policies, laws, regulations, and business ethics. Oversee the selection, scheduling, and development of pharmacy technician personnel. Lead training, coaching, and performance management of pharmacy technicians. Make decisions regarding performance management including discipline and termination. Engage with customers and patients by greeting them, offering assistance with products and services, resolving complaints, and responding to non-clinical questions to ensure a positive customer experience. Build strong relationships with customers by anticipating needs and promoting healthcare services. Assist the pharmacist in patient care delivery including patient registration, prescription data entry, preparation and verification of medications (where allowed by law), and patient/physician calls under pharmacist supervision. Support healthcare service offerings including vaccines and health screenings where permitted by law. Delegate, direct, and assign non-clinical work in the pharmacy; ensure on-time task completion and maintain efficient workflow. Prepare and file reports and records as required by the company and government agencies. Manage core pharmacy workflow and daily schedule; allocate pharmacy hours; ensure the pharmacy is clean, orderly, and stocked with supplies. Manage inventory and recordkeeping; ensure security safeguards are in place. Drive implementation of new technology and processes; collaborate with Pharmacy Manager on recordkeeping and security. Adhere to Good Faith Dispensing policies during all prescription-dispensing activities. Monitor asset protection, support diversion monitoring, and report concerns to the Pharmacy Manager. Communicate prescription errors to the pharmacist and participate in the Continuous Quality Improvement program. Ensure accurate processing of insurance claims, resolve customer issues, and participate in third-party audits. Support store and pharmacy managers in improving financials, operational quality, and customer service. Coordinate community outreach and immunization clinic assignments for pharmacists, and build relationships with retail partners. People & Performance Management

Lead performance management of technicians, including discipline and termination decisions. Maintain compliance with state and federal laws, and hold technicians accountable for attendance and timeliness. Improve performance through engagement and action planning. Oversee technician hiring, onboarding, training, and scheduling; ensure timely training completion. Identify knowledge gaps and support team members with training or learning modules. Monitor licensures, registrations, and certifications; verify status using company resources. Ensure recruitment, record retention, and training procedures comply with policy and laws. Training & Personal Development

Maintain PTCB certification and required state certifications. Pursue ongoing professional development and training as required by the company. Seek feedback and coaching, and leverage available mentorship to improve performance. Communication

Communicate with the pharmacy team and relay messages from support centers as needed. Participate in store/pharmacy meetings and regular check-ins with the Store Manager. Basic Qualifications

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent. PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico). One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting. Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico). Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends. Willingness to obtain active immunization certification within 90 days of hire (except in Community Specialty Pharmacy and Health System Pharmacy locations). Preferred Qualifications

Previous people management/leadership experience. Previous work experience with Walgreens with an Exceeding Expectation on last performance evaluation. The current salary range for this position is $22.50 per hour - $31.00 per hour. The actual hourly salary offered depends on geography, skills, education, experience and other factors.
