Pharmacy Operations Manager

Perform day-to-day non-clinical pharmacy operations and administrative activities where allowed by state and federal laws/regulations; ensure efficient pharmacy workflow and a positive patient experience. Serve as a full-time certified pharmacy technician. Operate pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. Supervise technicians and cashiers under the guidance of a pharmacist, following authorized company policies, laws, regulations, and business ethics. Lead the selection, scheduling, and development of pharmacy technician personnel. Drive training, coaching, and performance management; make decisions regarding performance management including discipline and termination. Assist the pharmacist in patient care delivery, including patient registration, prescription data entry, preparation and verification of medications (where allowed by law), and completion of patient and physician calls. Support healthcare service offerings such as administering vaccines and health screenings where permitted by law. Delegate, direct, and assign non-clinical work within company policies and regulatory guidelines; ensure on-time task completion and maintain efficient workflow. Prepare and file reports and records required by the company and government agencies under the direction of the Pharmacy Manager or pharmacist. Manage core pharmacy workflow and daily schedule; allocate pharmacy hours; ensure the pharmacy is clean, organized, and stocked with supplies. Oversee inventory management and annual inventory preparation; ensure compliance with business administrative activities and recordkeeping; maintain security safeguards for the pharmacy. Support recordkeeping, Good Faith Dispensing compliance, and error reporting; communicate prescription errors to the accountable pharmacist and participate in the Continuous Quality Improvement Program. Process insurance claims accurately to resolve customer issues and minimize payment rejections; coordinate with insurance companies and healthcare providers as needed; participate in third-party audits. Collaborate with Store Manager and Pharmacy Manager to analyze and improve pharmacy financials, operational quality, and customer service. Coordinate Community Outreach and immunization clinic assignments for pharmacists; build and maintain relationships with retail partners. People & Performance Management
Lead performance management of technicians, including discipline and termination decisions, following constructive discipline policies; hold technicians accountable for attendance and timeliness; drive engagement and action planning. Oversee technician hiring, onboarding, training, and scheduling; monitor training completion and ensure policy compliance. Identify knowledge gaps and support team members through hands-on training or learning modules. Monitor licensures, registrations, and certifications to ensure active and compliant status; verify licensure using company tools. Ensure proper procedures for selection, recruitment, record retention, and training according to policy and law. Training & Personal Development
Maintain and renew PTCB certification and other required credentials; participate in company training programs and performance improvement plans as needed. Engage in ongoing professional development and seek feedback with mentorship from supervisors. Qualifications
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent. PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico). One year of experience as a pharmacy technician in retail or hospital settings. Fluency in English (reading, writing, speaking) unless in Puerto Rico. Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends. Willingness to obtain active immunization certification within 90 days of hire (with location exceptions as applicable). Preferred Qualifications
Previous people management/leadership experience. Previous Walgreens experience with a track record of exceeding expectations.
