Overview

Production Manager, Megapack, Megafactory role at Tesla. The Production Manager will lead a high-volume manufacturing team at Megafactory Texas located in Brookshire, TX, overseeing multiple areas (Body-In-White, Powder Coat, General Assembly) and shifts (AWS). The role ensures safe and quality production of Tesla Megapacks and supports our mission to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy. A successful candidate will develop leaders and establish a culture of ownership, accountability, and world-class manufacturing, driving results through strategic cross-functional collaboration in a high-pressure environment. This position is based in the Greater Houston Area (TX) and may require up to 90% travel to the Bay Area (CA) to support early builds and validation for the first 6 to 12 months, with travel plans and reimbursement governed by Tesla’s Travel Policy.

What You'll Do

Build and lead a motivated production team to consistently deliver high-quality products, meeting aggressive targets across all shifts and value streams Maintain high product quality, manufacturing yield, and safety standards while optimizing resource use and fostering a culture of accountability Ensure standardized work practices and consistency across production teams, supported by effective training and workforce development Monitor and assess Safety, People, Quality, Rate, and Cost through KPIs and drive continuous improvement Partner with Design, Engineering, Quality, HR, and Maintenance to resolve issues, enhance product manufacturability, and boost line productivity Oversee Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) functions, including training, incident documentation, and proactive hazard correction, while empowering team-driven improvements Support Lean manufacturing, 5S initiatives, root cause investigations, and professional development of managerial and supervisory teams What You'll Bring

5 years minimum, 10+ years preferred experience managing organizations in a high-volume manufacturing setting; Body-In-White and Powder Coat experience preferred Bachelors or Masters Degree in Business or Technical discipline, evidence of exceptional experience, or equivalent experience Analytical, detail-oriented, self-motivated, organized, and able to pro-actively communicate with all employees in a fast-paced, multi-cultural environment Ability to work well under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines; 24/7 availability Excellent written and verbal communication Experience with process improvement methodologies (6 Sigma, Lean, 8D, Fishbone, 5 Whys, etc.) to improve efficiency and effectiveness Proficiency with MS Office programs (Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, Excel, Word) and creating business proposals and executive summaries Benefits
