The Commissioning Engineer team performs final testing, startup, and commissioning of low and medium voltage electrical distribution equipment, including breakers, transformers, switches, switchgear, relays, and motor control centers, both in the field and manufacturing environment. An understanding of complex electrical distribution systems and sophisticated test equipment is required. You will contribute to a safe working environment and project success. Local, regional, and national travel may be necessary. Assist experienced specialists in coordinating and reviewing electrical deliverables Prepare and review electrical sketches, CX plans, and data sheets Perform routine electrical calculations Review supplier documentation for compliance Utilize department guides and standards via the electrical engineering website Understand basic electrical engineering theories and testing of electrical components Familiarity with power systems, switchgear, transformers, circuit breakers, and related equipment Proficient in technical writing Basic knowledge of industry codes and standards Good communication skills Willingness to travel to customer sites Qualifications
Up to 2+ years of electrical experience with a bachelor's degree in a related field 4+ years of electrical experience with an associate's degree Minimum 6+ years of electrical experience with a high school diploma or GED Valid/active U.S. Work Authorization Candidate Expectations
Experience in electronics installation and maintenance Ability to interpret trade drawings and identify potential issues Knowledge of industry standards such as NETA ATS/MTS, NEC, NFPA 70E Desired Qualifications
OEM certified field service training NETA Level III or IV certification (preferred) Abilities
Ability to work with extended computer screen time Ability to sit for long periods Reach and manipulate objects with hands and fingers Effective listening and communication skills Ability to read and understand written information Apply rules to specific problems and produce logical solutions Understand spoken language
