Black & Veatch Corporation Associate Electrical Engineer – Water/Wastewater

Role Summary In this technical specialist role, you will design and deliver electrical solutions for water and wastewater projects across the globe. You will collaborate with regional and global design teams, perform complex engineering studies, and support construction inspection to ensure high‑quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Develop electrical design deliverables: one‑line diagrams, schematics, power and lighting plans, installation details, and technical specifications.

Perform energy optimization, power system coordination, arc flash hazard analysis, and electrical reliability studies.

Coordinate with regional and global design teams and project leadership on project intent and detailed design.

Assist with construction inspection, resolve electrical construction issues, and support project studies.

Maintain current knowledge of B&V design guides, standards, engineering codes, and policies.

Mentor entry‑level professionals and interns, and contribute to continuous improvement and change management efforts.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program.

3+ years of electrical design, planning, and construction services within the water/wastewater industry.

Experience with power system analysis software (SKM, ETAP, or equivalent).

Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification and pursuit of Professional Engineer (PE) license.

Consulting experience in the water/wastewater sector.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.

Minimum of 1 year of related work experience.

Ability to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements (background check, drug screening, vehicle records).
