Note:
This position is contingent upon contract award and will be located onsite in the southeast, southwest, or central United States. Travel may be required. Duties and Responsibilities
Perform complex chemical, biological, hematological, immunologic, microscopic, and bacteriological tests. Examine and analyze body fluids and cells; match blood for transfusions. Maintain blood products according to the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB) requirements. Analyze the chemical content of fluids and test for drug levels in the blood. Prepare specimens, count cells, and identify abnormal cells in blood and body fluids. Analyze test results and communicate findings to physicians. Make cultures of body fluids and tissue samples to detect microorganisms. Test samples for chemical content and determine concentrations of compounds such as glucose and cholesterol. Evaluate test results, develop and modify procedures, and monitor quality programs for test accuracy. Use universal safety precautions to protect against biohazards, including blood-borne pathogens. Order and stock supplies; maintain a safe and clean work environment. Keep patient records, maintain equipment, and may oversee lab operations and staff. Provide supervision or act as Lab Lead, guiding other technologists and technicians. Perform other duties and projects as assigned. Qualifications
Completed a formal Medical Technology training program leading to a Bachelor's Degree. Certified by AMT, ASCP, or NCA. Current BLS certification. At least five years of experience as a Medical Technologist. At least one year in a Lead role. Recent clinical experience in direct patient care within the last 6 months. Ability to multitask, be detail-oriented, organized, and have excellent communication skills. Proficiency with MS Office and computer equipment. Adaptability to work shifts and operational changes. Strong problem-solving skills. Proficient in English communication skills. Physical Requirements and Work Conditions
