Overview Job Title: Principal Manufacturing Engineer – Aerospace Composites

Location: Tallassee, AL (Relocation Assistance Available)

About the Role We are seeking a Principal Manufacturing Engineer to lead composite manufacturing innovation at our aerospace facility in Tallassee, AL. In this role, you’ll develop and optimize advanced production processes, mentor engineers, and ensure compliance with aerospace quality standards while driving efficiency and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Lead development of high-quality, efficient composite manufacturing processes.

Implement advanced methods including automation, robotics, and additive manufacturing.

Collaborate on material selection, tooling design, and process validation.

Partner with cross-functional teams (Supply Chain, Quality, Production) to support programs.

Ensure compliance with AS9100, AS13100, and NADCAP standards.

Apply risk management, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.

Mentor engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of innovation and growth.

Support product development, quoting, tooling, and first article builds.

Champion Lean, Six Sigma, and Zero Defects Manufacturing initiatives.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related engineering field.

8+ years of manufacturing engineering experience, including:

5+ years in composites

2+ years in leadership

2+ years in project management

Knowledge of AS9100, AS13100, and NADCAP standards.

U.S. Person status required under ITAR regulations.

Ability to travel up to 10% as needed.

Preferred

Aerostructures experience (metallics and/or composites).

Lean/Six Sigma certification or training.

Strong leadership, mentoring, and communication skills.
