Job Overview Southern Women's Health , a division of

has an immediate opportunity for a Full‑Time Registered Mammography Technologist. This career‑building position is on weekdays only, with no evenings, weekends, or holidays. Candidates with experience in stereotactic biopsies, needle localizations, and breast ultrasound will be given special consideration. Responsibilities
A strong working knowledge of patient positioning/technical factors for both screening and diagnostic mammograms
Gains patient cooperation by reducing anxieties, providing explanations of imaging procedures, explaining equipment, and answering questions
The ability to assess complex patient needs
Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following, and enforcing standards and procedures
Practice good clinical decision making and problem‑solving skills
Use of beam‑restricting devices, patient shielding, assessment and implementation of appropriate exposure factors to minimize radiation exposure
Ability to recognize life‑threatening conditions and implement basic life‑sustaining actions
Maintain BLS certification
Strong organizational skills; must be able to manage and prioritize multiple workstreams and patient interactions simultaneously
Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with patients and team members in a professional and caring manner
Qualifications & Experience
Graduate of a school of Radiologic Technology, registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
Mammography certification required; must meet ARRT(R)(M) requirements for exam counts and CME
Must have at least one year of experience with both screening and diagnostic mammography
Two – Three years of mammography experience preferred
Familiarity with ACR/FDA accreditation practices and regulations required
Ability to accurately position the patient for imaging according to ACR standards
Utilize techniques to physically manipulate and apply accessories to produce desired images
Ability to select technical factors and operate imaging equipment to produce quality diagnostic images
Basic computer literacy and applications for data entry and records maintenance
Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift 20 lbs throughout the day
