Job Description We are seeking a

Project Manager Lead

for our growing Renewable Department within the US Energy Practice. This role involves managing the design process from the project basis of design stage through issuance of deliverables, ensuring seamless coordination between internal and external stakeholders.

The position requires a strong understanding of engineering design, interconnection, utility markets, and construction processes. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and the ability to lead matrixed design teams and manage client‑approved engineering consultants.

Responsibilities

Supervise and mentor a team of project managers, supporting individual and team development.

Lead improvements in project efficiencies by creating, updating, and implementing group‑specific standards/templates.

Manage team forecast, tracking, propose and capture leadership to support business development activities.

Identify project opportunities early and facilitate go/no‑go decisions; prepare proposals, lead client presentations, and negotiate contracts.

Support recruiting efforts and client development through existing contracts/relationships.

Support projects through complete lifecycle—feasibility, detail design, issue‑for‑bid, construction, start‑up, and commissioning.

Take ownership of internal project financials, staffing, legal coordination, and risk management.

Facilitate planning and kickoff meetings to ensure alignment among all project stakeholders.

Oversee the design process, including design reviews and equipment fabrication reviews at key milestones.

Coordinate with the technical delivery team (including subcontractors) to ensure deliverables exceed client satisfaction.

Deliver projects in accordance with AECOM QMS processes.

Qualifications

BS/BA degree +8 years of relevant experience or equivalence.

Project Management experience directly related to renewable engineering projects.

Demonstrated delivery of complex projects with high quality on schedule and within scope and budget.

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.

Professional Engineering Licensure (PE) preferred.

+15 years of relevant experience, including program & project management of renewables.

Experience managing projects in collaborative environments (e.g., Navisworks).

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Proven ability to manage large‑scale, complex projects in a fast‑paced environment.

Experience with design reviews and equipment fabrication reviews.

Demonstrated success working in a remote team environment.

Compensation Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $160,000.00 – $205,000.00.
