Hybrid position in Bloomington, MN Salary:
$115,000-$160,000 Base Role Overview We are seeking a highly organized and analytical professional to lead risk assessment and recovery planning in this newly created role. As our Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Specialist, you will identify organizational vulnerabilities and critical business functions, develop strategies to prevent or minimize impact, and ensure we are prepared to respond to any disruption with confidence and agility. *Only candidates who reside in Minnesota will be considered.* Responsibilities Conduct risk assessments and business impact analyses to identify vulnerable areas within the company's critical functions Recommend and implement disaster avoidance strategies and impact reduction strategies Gather and interpret data for use in risk assessments or business impact analyses Develop and establish disaster recovery procedures for restoring mission-critical business applications in the event of natural disasters, technical failures, power outages, or human interference Manage and coordinate all aspects of actual recovery plan implementation and efforts, including initial emergency response, recovery procedures, and business resumption processes Inform, educate, and train internal business team members on their responsibilities concerning business continuity procedures and emergency response, and maintain proper interactions with internal and external customers Collaborate with and support technical and compliance teams in the development and maintenance of business continuity plans to ensure continuity of vital business processes and functions Facilitate annual tabletop stress tests for established vital process business continuity plans and assist technical team owners with remediating identified gaps Ensure that company equipment, systems, services, and facilities are compliant with disaster recovery plans and procedures Participate in internal and external IT audits and assessments, and contribute to the development and testing of corporate and division disaster recovery plans Continually conduct simulations and test runs of system disruptions to revise and perfect plans Investigate and select locations for off-site storage of data and backups Adhere to high levels of confidentiality Participate in training or other opportunities to stay current with developments and technologies related to disaster recovery and business continuity Serve as a primary point of contact and subject matter expert for BC planning and recovery objectives Facilitate meetings with key stakeholders to assess strengths and weaknesses in the program and ensure adequate resources for critical functions Present the current state of recovery capabilities to leadership and stakeholders and secure approvals and feedback as needed Required Skills & Experience A Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or related field, or equivalent combination of work experience and education Six years or more of experience in disaster recovery, business continuity, or related discipline One or more years of experience assisting in administering Oracle database technologies in a corporate environment Preferred certifications: CBCP, CDRE Working knowledge of disaster recovery principles, methods, and requirements Good working knowledge of information security and IT risk management Strong problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills Ability to work independently and manage projects effectively Experience interfacing with key stakeholders and providing excellent customer service Self-starter with the ability to see the big picture and maintain confidentiality Willingness to stay current with industry trends Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.) *Only candidates who reside in Minnesota will be considered.* About Versique Versique: a high-performance recruiting firm specializing in executive leadership search, direct hire, and interim hiring solutions.
