Job Title Digital & IT Telecom Lead - ASRC Talent Solutions

Summary The Telecom Lead reports to the IS Operations Manager and is accountable for implementing and maintaining a stable, secure and efficient network infrastructure in Alaska. The role focuses on meeting production operations and operations technology requirements, collaborating with all departments to support the Anchorage office and Data Center, North Slope activity, winter field work, and upcoming construction seasons. The Telecom Lead will work with Telecom engineering within the Development Team as the architect for permanent facilities and oversee the transition from engineering to operations. The role includes developing a system performance monitoring process to diagnose and resolve network issues, optimize performance, and uphold client security standards. Additionally, the Telecom Lead ensures Alaska infrastructure meets or exceeds CMS Operating Standards and Core Business Processes. The role involves collaborating with the wider Alaska IT team to provide technology requirements to enable the business.

Responsibilities

Ensure a robust, functional, and efficient network infrastructure for the Alaska Business Unit.

Manage a technical team to ensure timely resolution of regional network incidents and requests.

Deliver requirements to enable Alaska production operations to maintain high uptime.

Proactively monitor the regional firewall to minimize risks of unauthorized equipment connections and user access.

Identify and recommend improvements to regional infrastructure aligned with the Client IS strategy.

Ensure timely resolution of regional firewall incidents and requests.

Conduct site field visits to ensure environments function as expected.

Follow the Client change management processes, including:

Perform network configuration, routine maintenance checks, and troubleshooting

Monitor and manage switches, firewalls, controllers, and other network devices

Lead network upgrades and installations

Effectively manage technical team delivery and ensure compliance with SMS Operating Standards and Core Business Processes.

Delegate deliverables across direct reports and develop team members through on-the-job deliverables, projects, and training.

Track KPIs for team and network; update and maintain network documentation, diagrams, and configuration repositories (Firewall Maintenance, Palo Alto).

Ensure Alaska team creates and maintains regional processes and procedures aligned to SMS.

Maintain project portfolio and seek opportunities for continuous improvement.

Adhere to and help enforce network security policies; participate in configuration and deployment of new network devices and systems.

Required Experience

Minimum of 7 years' experience in a Corporate IT position, with 5+ years leading a team.

Bachelor's degree in computer science.

CCNP Certification.

Experience delivering end-user support in remote, onsite, and over-the-phone scenarios.

Experience working with remote vendor support and on-site consultants.

General knowledge of network design principles, models, and best practices.

Strong experience with Cisco switching and routing, basic networking protocols and systems including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, Wireless, 802.11x.

Strong experience in VMware, Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop, Windows Server 2012/2016, SCOM & SCCM.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience in an Oil & Gas environment.

ITIL v3 (or higher) Foundations Certification.

Experience with PowerShell scripting, Active Directory, Azure, AWS, ServiceNow, Office 365.

Commissioning of development systems into production.

SQL/Oracle database administration.

Mobile Device Management administration.

Experience with Netscalers, firewall configuration, Appsense, PowerShell, Office 365, NetApp.

Strong understanding of cyber security best practices (e.g., role-based access control).

Working on the North Slope When working on the North Slope of Alaska, lodging and meals are provided. Camp facilities vary, with Wi-Fi, meals, and amenities such as housekeeping, laundry, and recreation options. Orientation will cover on-site policies.
