This role is responsible for responding to emergency service requests, identifying mechanical issues and providing applicable roadside assistance on member vehicles so that the member can get on their way. Services are provided through towing and light service vehicles. The work location is the Fleet shop in SODO, South Downtown, Seattle. Please be comfortable with this commute. What You’ll Do
This position responds to emergency service requests, identifies mechanical issues, and provides roadside assistance on member vehicles so the member can continue their trip. Services are provided through towing and light service vehicles. Provide emergency mechanical assistance on member vehicles (e.g., jump-starts, battery testing, battery installation, tire changes, gasoline delivery, lock-out services, and minor repairs as permissible). Tow vehicles to specified locations following safe procedures. Be the “face” of AAA WA to members who are stranded and require emergency roadside service. Perform electrical, fuel, or other system diagnoses on vehicles. Provide customer service to members and other departments as needed. Advise manager of any vehicle or operational issues. Perform minor vehicle repairs on fleet vehicles. Contribute to a positive team dynamic through respectful interactions, collaboration, and alignment with department and organizational goals. Incorporate AAA’s vision, mission, and values in daily activities and motivate others to uphold them. Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED Ability to pass and maintain DOT physical requirements 3+ years of experience in automotive and/or customer service 1+ year of demonstrated mechanical aptitude and reasoning Meet minimum age requirement for insurability Preferred Qualifications
Education and training in batteries, vehicle lockouts, tire changes, and roadside safety Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Valid Washington State driver’s license Technical school certification preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals Ability to operate fleet vehicles, light service vehicles, passenger vehicles, and towing equipment with both automatic and manual transmissions Mechanical knowledge and ability to diagnose various automotive systems Competent in MS Office and navigating the internet Ability to manage multiple demands and priorities in a changing environment Ability to work independently, prioritize, and complete assignments with minimal direction Ability to handle urgent situations professionally and take extra measures when solving problems Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships Compensation
Hiring Range: $25.30 – $30.35 per hour Full Pay Band: $25.30 – $35.41 per hour You will also have the opportunity to earn a discretionary bonus based on company performance. Benefits
