Lead Supplier Quality Engineer position with Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) located in Berkeley, MO. This role provides subject matter expert-level support in Supplier Quality processes, product design life cycle, procurement processes, USG contracting and Enterprise Standard Gated Process (ESGP). The candidate will develop quality-planning documents supporting programs in all phases of maturity and act as a lead in supplier quality activities. Responsibilities
Develop Supplier Quality strategy to support programs in all phases of development and execution. Leads integration of contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into proposals, program processes and documentation; provide interpretation of complex requirements. Develop quality criteria to support supplier selection activities; lead reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs. Develop and select methods for analysis, testing and audit to ensure manufacturing and test readiness. Execute as the lead SQE on programs as needed; develop and implement corrective actions. Perform benchmarking and advanced analysis to ensure process capability levels are achieved; work under minimal direction. Develop quality metrics, design and production certification plans for large programs to ensure compliance with contractual, company and regulatory requirements. Assist in development of new standard repairs for non-conformances and analyze non-conformance trends to evaluate corrective actions. Position Responsibilities
Develop strategies and planning for how Supplier Quality will support Phantom Works programs, including APQP, Manufacturing readiness (AS6500), ESGP. Lead integration of contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into proposals, program processes and documentation; provide interpretation of complex requirements. Support programs hands-on as needed and support Supplier Implementation and Execution of APQP. Provide interpretation of complex requirements; support supplier development activities and integration of requirements related to Mission Systems and Sub-Systems. Implement and lead early quality involvement strategies for suppliers and new programs. Assist in performing Functional and Physical Configuration Audits as well as First Article Inspection. Develop quality criteria to support supplier selection activities and identify/mitigate risk in the supply base. Lead reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs; develop methods for analysis, testing and audit to ensure readiness; analyze non-conformances and drive corrective actions. Develop and implement corrective actions; perform benchmarking and advanced analyses to ensure process capability levels. Qualifications
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in engineering, engineering technology, computer science, data science, physics or chemistry. More than 10 years of experience in Quality, Supplier Quality or Supplier Management. More than 5 years of experience leading or managing Corrective Actions or Root Cause Analysis. More than 3 years of experience directly interfacing with suppliers. More than 3 years of experience in the aerospace industry. Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience in APQP/PPAP or AS9145 deployment; experience presenting to senior leadership; experience in leading and/or coaching teams. Additional Details
