ISS Facility Services - North America Overview The Assistant Facility Manager is responsible for managing the operations, maintenance, and vendor management standards of a contract to assure that they are met in a cost effective, safe, and efficient manner. This person works in cooperation with the Regional Key Account Manager and/or Facility Manager, subcontractors, and ISS team to ensure account obligations are met in accordance with approved operating guidelines and budget. The Assistant Facility Manager will be required to make decisions in the absence of the Facility Manager and will be the contact for the Manager at the account to address operational issues. Key Responsibilities
Ensures that account facilities are operated and maintained in a cost-effective and safe condition in accordance with the approved customer’s requirements to fulfill contractual obligations Communicates operating philosophy, objectives, and expectations in a continuing effort to build the site team Work with Facility Manager to maintain the operations budget for the Office Service, Custodial and Facility Maintenance operations Ensure facility statutory and regulatory compliance on the site Conducts activities using sound business practices to optimize expenditures and profitability Maintains open lines of communication with customer, alliance partners, and operations managers Identifies, tests, and implement “leading edge” technology in support of building operations Complies with all company policies and procedures and adheres to company standards Key Areas of Collaboration and Influence
Communicate effectively with colleagues within the Business Unit and across the company so that information is disseminated effectively and participate in project groups and meetings as required Account Organization Risk Management and Compliance Customer Organization Local Excellence Functions External Partners and Suppliers Account dedicated People & Culture, HSE, and Finance Promote the IFS model within the ISS community Transfer best practice Use the account to promote and further develop ISS Ideal Candidate Experience (Qualifications)
Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, or business or equivalent experience preferred 5+ years of facility management, building operations, supervisory experience in management, budgeting, vendor management, operations and maintenance required Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, uninterrupted power supply (UPS) or Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems may be required Strong supervisory background and customer service experience Strong computer proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint Excellent time management skills; able to work independently Valid State Driver’s License Ability to work ALL shifts, including 3rd shift Bilingual is a plus Key Accountabilities
Ensure delivery on contract promises Identify and leverage opportunities for improvement and best practice across the account Responsible for innovation at account including deploying resources in relevant Corporate Garage activities PMO responsibility ensuring delivery on time, budget and quality of prioritized projects and programs on the account Collaborate with internal/external stakeholders to identify and roll-out project support Engage in a wide network of Account Excellence Managers to ensure steady flow of best practice sharing Conduct periodic internal reviews to ensure compliance procedures are followed Increase customer loyalty and satisfaction through service excellence Physical Demands & Work Environment
Long working hours Sitting at a computer for 50% of the time Walking/Inspecting the site 50% of the time Must be able to lift a minimum of 10 pounds Must be able to work under pressure and time deadlines during peak periods HSEQ Compliance: All employees must adhere to Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) policies and procedures to ensure a safe and compliant work environment. This includes following safety protocols, maintaining environmental responsibility, and upholding quality standards in all tasks. Employees are expected to actively participate in HSEQ training and report any potential hazards or compliance concerns. ISS offers full time employees a variety of benefits including medical, dental, life and disability insurance, as well as a comprehensive leave program based on employment status. The annual salary range for this position is $95,000 per year - $105,000 per year. Final compensation will be determined based on experience and skills and may vary from the range listed above.
