Overview
Senior Category Manager (CPG) at Acosta. This hybrid role requires 3 days a week in the office and is open to candidates Anywhere in the U.S. The role includes approximately 25% focus on planogram development, involving detailed assortment analysis to uncover opportunities for optimization and innovation. You’ll develop and present selling strategies, provide analytical support, and evaluate the impact of category decisions for a major manufacturer. Travel is required for client engagements and leadership meetings. Responsibilities
Conduct detailed assortment analysis to identify opportunities for optimization and innovation. Independently develop and recommend shelving and POG strategies aligned with customer and category goals; analyze data to develop insights-based analysis/projects with recommendations focused on strategy and objectives. Experience using technical software: EYC, SymphonyAI, Circana, Nielsen, Numerator, Market6 & Stratum, Blue Yonder or Apollo software. Participate in the category review process, working with cross-functional teams to provide complete category management solutions. Independently develop and maintain client-specific reporting that measures performance against strategies and objectives. Work closely with assigned clients and business managers by setting up regular meetings to become trusted advisors. Build and present solid sales stories using syndicated, panel, basket, shopper, and other sources of data that provide solutions and recommendations to address business issues. Maintain connectivity with clients to ensure understanding of KPIs, innovation, and other important information. Provide follow-up and summarize results; submit success stories and attend sales calls. Qualifications
Education Requirements:
High School Diploma/GED Bachelor’s Degree (preferred) Category Management Certification (preferred) Related work experience can be substituted for the educational requirement Work Experience Requirements:
3-5 years related work experience Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proficiency with Windows, Excel, PowerPoint, and knowledge of Power BI is a strong asset. Experience with syndicated data and/or space management tools. Identifies and leverages relevant data to diagnose situations and identify potential solutions. Ability to conduct data mining utilizing CPG math concepts and tools. Clear and effective communication tailored to the audience. Ability to manage project plans and track timelines independently. Problem identification and information gathering for diagnosis. Drive to meet internal and external stakeholder expectations. Ability to execute strategic objectives and keep priorities on track. Physical Abilities
