Overview Target is looking for an Inbound Operations Team Leader to help manage General Merchandise and Food Sales operations, including inbound, outbound, replenishment, and promotional signing processes. The role supports delivering a consistent guest experience and leading a team of hourly team members.

Responsibilities

Understand sales goals, plan and execute daily/weekly workload to deliver department and store sales goals and guest engagement.

Lead and share expertise in operations, accuracy and efficiency.

With guidance from your direct leader, establish clear goals and expectations and hold team members accountable.

Utilize workload planning tools to complete scheduled workload ensuring areas are guest ready at store open.

Assign daily tasks to team members based on planned workload and guest traffic patterns, aligning with weekly/monthly business priorities.

Work a schedule that may include early morning, evening, overnight shifts and weekends.

Assess GM backroom and sales floor areas, review reporting to identify gaps and develop plans to resolve issues.

Enable a consistent guest experience by ensuring product is available for purchase.

Assist the direct leader in leading and following up on organizational and operational changes.

Build and develop a team of GM experts through onboarding and ongoing training, providing direction and feedback.

Demonstrate inclusivity and create equitable experiences while upholding ethical conduct, safety and compliance.

Lead and model a safety culture, identify hazards, and ensure timely reporting and investigation of injuries.

Support merchandise protection strategies, including ordering, storage and application as directed by best practices.

Follow all safe and secure training and processes as applicable.

Address all store and offsite emergency and compliance needs.

Support guest services (backup cashier, order pickup, Drive Up) while ensuring compliance with laws and company policies.

Model creating a welcoming experience by engaging with guests and assisting with their needs.

Lead by thanking guests and ensuring they feel valued for their visit.

All other duties as assigned by business needs.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent

Age 18 or older

Previous retail experience preferred, but not required

Ability to lead and hold others accountable

Learn and adapt to current technology needs

Work independently and as part of a team

Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently

Remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes

Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and team members

Effective communication skills
