What You’ll Do As the Chemical Process Engineer, you will track plant operational performance and provide information and ideas for plant process efficiency improvements. You will be responsible for providing technical guidance to Maintenance, HSE, and Operations. Other duties will include: Provide guidance on plant Distributed Control System (DCS) modifications and maintenance; Capital, expense, maintenance engineering, and project management Demonstrate and be committed to the pursuit of achieving Zero Harm through behavioral based safety leadership. Ensure compliance with applicable HSE performance standards, objectives and regulations Work closely with the site leadership teams to ensure our business culture is driven by our company values Support continuous improvement initiatives through active participation, including identification of efficiency and quality improvements in work processes and problem solving. Provide technical guidance on DCS additions or modifications. Assist in preparation of Plant Annual Capital Budget and five-year plan. May manage Capital projects. Manage Expense, Maintenance, and Operations projects as appropriate. Complete engineering designs and evaluations. Write work requests, service and consulting contracts. Supervise and coordinate outside and professional services. Write purchase specifications, solicit and evaluate quotations, select materials and equipment, write material requisitions. Provide estimates, project justification, and prepare CEPs and TORs (Terms of Reference) for all Front End Loading (FEL) phases of projects as needed. Recommend process improvements and alterations for improved performance and safety. Make field inspections of proposed and current projects. Participate and support PSM RMP efforts as required. What We’re Looking For: Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering required. 5+ years of experience in a chemical plant or refinery across maintenance, engineering, construction, mechanical design, process design, project supervision, and economic analysis. Must have knowledge of chemical plant mechanical equipment and processes. Ability to support the Operations team on nights and weekends, as needed, for training, outage work execution and start-up support. Must be willing to successfully obtain a TWIC Card.
