This role is a staff opportunity in our Mechanical Engineering Department focused on fired equipment and related mechanical systems across industries including Power, Gas, Fuels & Chemicals, Water and Waste Water, Data Centers, and Mining.

The Opportunity You will lead design execution efforts and:

Evaluate, select, specify, and engineer fired equipment for reliable, cost-effective, and efficient operation.

Prepare equipment cost estimates and manhours for FEED and Detailed Design phases.

Prepare fired equipment data sheets and technical specifications for bid and purchase.

Conduct bid clarifications/meetings with bidders and prepare technical bid evaluations/summaries for equipment.

Participate in client project meetings and with the fired equipment team.

Participate in design and model reviews, HAZOP reviews, constructability reviews, etc.

Develop construction sub-contracts for fired equipment and other mechanical equipment.

Participate in on-site start-up and commissioning work as needed.

Attend pre-inspection meetings, inspections, and testing on fired equipment in vendors’ shops.

Team and Focus The Mechanical Engineering Department is a global team delivering high-quality, on-time design and services for power, gas, fuels & chemicals, water and wastewater, data centers, and mining projects. We cover all mechanical aspects of process and power, including HVAC, piping, and related performance estimating and testing. Our Fuels & Natural Resources sector works with global investors and operators on innovative energy solutions.

Preferred Qualifications Desired experience includes expertise in the following areas:

Industries such as power, LNG, gas processing, mining, manufacturing, and water treatment

Executing projects from concept through detailed engineering to start-up and operations support

Reading detailed project drawings and technical interpretations

Material and component selection of fired equipment and auxiliaries, complex packaged systems, and similar systems

Fired equipment troubleshooting and small services engineering projects

Engineered equipment shop inspections

Writing fired equipment ASME and API overlay specifications

Codes/standards: ASME Code (Section I, VIII-1 & 2), NFPA 85, 86, 87, EPA emissions regulations, API 521/537/560, API 573, 936, and related equipment standards

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program or equivalent experience

Minimum of 5 years related work experience

Active engineering registration/licensure to support engineer of record requirements where applicable

Certifications Holds an active engineering registration or licensure to support engineer of record requirements where applicable.

Work Environment and Schedule

Office environment with potential site visits requiring physical activity (crouching, grasping, standing/walking)

Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days based on manager discretion and performance
