Job Summary:
The IT Field Engineer is responsible for providing on-site and remote technical support, installations, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT hardware and software systems across multiple locations. This position will be the go-to resource for resolving technical issues quickly and efficiently while ensuring high levels of user satisfaction and customer service.
Job Duties:
· Provide on-site and remote technical support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and other devices, which require traveling to local/regional company sites.
· Identify, troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
· Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, software applications, and network equipment.
· Create and maintain necessary SOP documentation.
· Partner with PMO to coordinate hardware and network site fulfillment.
· Ensure compliance with company IT policies and security protocols.
· Document service requests, resolutions, and IT assets using a ticketing system.
· Collaborate with internal IT teams and vendors for escalated support.
· Support and back up the service desk when needed.
· Support software and policy distribution for enterprise hardware.
Education and Experience:
· Associate’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience). Bachelor’s degree preferred.
· 2+ years of experience in IT support, help desk, or field service roles
· Experience with hardware troubleshooting and repair
· Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to locations up to 50% of time.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Microsoft Office 365, networking basics (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
· Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
· Customer-service oriented and professional demeanor
· Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
· Strong documentation and organizational skills
· May require lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs.
