BASIC FUNCTIONS:
Under the direction of the appropriate Dean, this position is a part-time temporary instructional faculty assignment. The role is suitable for a highly motivated candidate with a genuine interest in engaging a diverse student body and a passion for fostering academic growth. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact on our diverse academic community. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
Provide instruction according to the approved Imperial Valley College curriculum and course outlines, based on the college's needs. Assignments depend on class availability, seniority, and qualifications, and include conducting classes, preparing course materials, evaluating students, developing syllabi, assessing learning outcomes, and other related duties. Maintain and submit accurate records (grades, syllabi, attendance reports) by published deadlines. Uphold standards of professional conduct and ethics appropriate to the position. Advise students on academic matters. Maintain competency in the field. Applicants may qualify through education and experience equivalent to the listed degrees. To be considered for equivalency, submit college transcripts and a detailed work experience description with your application. Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree
AND
two years of full-time (or part-time equivalent) professional experience related to the teaching assignment. OR an Associate's degree
AND
six years of full-time (or part-time equivalent) professional experience related to the teaching assignment. OR the equivalent. Sensitivity to and understanding of diverse socio-economic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students (AB 1725, 87360a). Note:
