BASIC FUNCTIONS:
Under the direction of the appropriate Dean, this position is a part-time temporary instructional faculty assignment. This role is suited for an exceptionally motivated candidate who demonstrates a genuine interest in engaging with a diverse student body and has a passion for fostering academic growth and knowledge. A commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion is essential. This position offers a chance to make a lasting impact on our diverse academic community. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
Provide instruction according to approved Imperial Valley College curriculum and course outlines, based on college needs. Responsibilities include conducting classes, preparing lessons, evaluating students, developing syllabi, assessing learning outcomes, and other related duties, based on class availability, seniority, and qualifications. Maintain and submit accurate records (grades, syllabi, attendance reports) by deadlines. Uphold standards of professional conduct and ethics appropriate to the position. Advise students on academic matters. Maintain competency in the field. Applicants may qualify through education and experience equivalency. To qualify, submit college transcripts and a detailed work experience description with your application. Minimum qualifications include: Master's in political science, government, or international relations; OR Bachelor's in any of the above plus a Master's in economics, history, public administration, social science, sociology, ethnic studies, JD, or LL.B.; OR Equivalent qualifications. Applicants must demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of diverse socio-economic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students (AB 1725, 87360a). Note:
