Assistant Director of Business Services SY 2025/2026
Assist in the administration of the business affairs of the District in such a way as to provide the best possible educational services with the financial resources available.
Required Qualifications
Associate’s degree or equivalent in business management, accounting, or related field
One year of experience in a supervisory role
Must possess/maintain a valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (upon employment)
Background clearance (upon employment)
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business management, accounting, or related field
Three years of school-related operational experience
Essential Duties And Responsibilities To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Oversees the enforcement of the accounting policies, procedures, and activities of the District.
Supervises the business office accounts payable, payroll, purchasing, student activities, tax credit and accounting/finance.
Reconciles assigned accounts for the purpose of validating district accounting records.
Monitors budget components, programs and/or subprograms (e.g. cash flow and investments, grant revenues and expenditures, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the accuracy of reported information and availability of funds.
Assists school administrators and department supervisors in administering their budgets. Prepares and coordinates information for monthly budget reports.
Responsible for the tracking and reconciliation of all district stewardship and fixed asset items.
Assists with the management of the District’s liability insurance program and assists in the selection of the health insurance carrier and program benefits.
Assists with the coordination of facility construction projects.
Leads the district financial audit and works with auditors to provide necessary information in conducting the District’s audit.
Develops and supervises a program for the purchasing of all supplies and equipment.
Supervises District business services staff.
Researches discrepancies of financial information and/or documentation for the purpose of ensuring accuracy and compliance with established procedures and processes.
Supervises the district electronic document automation system.
Attends appropriate committee, school board and staff meetings.
Performs other tasks as assigned by the Executive Director of Business Services.
Evaluation Performance for this position will be evaluated in accordance with the provision of Board Policy GCO - Evaluation of Professional Staff Members.
