Walk-ins are welcome from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The primary purpose of the Mental Health Specialist II is to provide services which support the delivery of clinical services in the Crisis Receiving Stabilization Center (CRSC). Responsibilities
Takes primary responsibility for answering telephone calls from consumers. Conducts initial triage of consumers and families upon arrival onsite (within five minutes) and provides immediate report to the Program Manager. Maintains appropriate client records in a timely manner as mandated by Center policy. Faxes and/or scans paperwork to other entities as directed by the Program Manager or designee. assists the Program Manager or designee in updating information on the Patient Information Smart Board in the unit. Ensures that received documentation is provided to the clinical staff or medical staff as appropriate under supervision. Reviews pertinent information in admission papers (e.g., right to request discharge, right to refuse medication) when consumers and/or families complete admission paperwork. Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all consumers, families, visitors, and fellow employees to maintain a professional, courteous environment. Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in a mental health-related field or four (4) years of full-time experience in a mental health field. Equivalent education, experience and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirement. Certifications/Licenses:
Valid driver’s license. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must possess adequate written and verbal skills; ability to document in an Electronic Medical Record and in Microsoft Word. Preferred Qualifications:
One (1) year of experience in an inpatient or crisis setting; ability to enter information into a database and use the Rutgers UBHC registration software to enter needed information with accuracy. Benefits
