Joe, FL Signing Bonus: No Salary: Negotiable based on experience Contingent on contract award. Must be a U.S. Citizen, and have a successful completion of a background investigation and drug screening. Labor Category - Summary: The Engineer II’s purpose is to solve technical problems, develop applicable documentation, and supervise all assigned resources to support the assigned project. The Engineer II assists the Senior Engineers, Engineering Supervisors and Project Engineers in determining the technical requirements of the project, defining resource requirements to achieve schedule and budget commitments, and solving technical issues as they arise within the field of competence. Responsibilities

Work independently in solving technical issues Plan, estimate, schedule and monitor assigned work and the work of assigned resources Track and report progress to budget and schedule commitments Supervise assigned resources Facilitate communications of issues and solutions throughout MMC Prepare, check and issue professional quality deliverables Interpret contract requirements Develop contract change documents to support the project needs May be required to define, track and control subcontractor activities Abide by and enforce all organizational policies and procedures May be required to lead or participate in product improvement projects Supervisory Responsibilities

The Engineer II may directly supervise 2 to 8 employees. Supervisory responsibilities are carried out in accordance with the Company’s policies, procedures, and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems. The Engineer II also demonstrates leadership skills that align with the mission, vision, and values of the Company. Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree (4 Year Degree) in field of competence (or equivalent) or High School Diploma/GED and 13 years of equivalent experience. 4 years of experience of increasing responsibility in the engineering field of competence. Supervisory experience desired. Six Sigma or LEAN training desired. Skills

Must have technological skills (see attachment for specific skills) proven by verifiable and specific work experience, technical publication, or patent issue. Working knowledge of standard shipbuilding rules and regulations, and related regulatory agencies and the review & approval process. Current computer skills relevant to the field of competence. Ability to work within schedule and budget restraints. Professional demeanor; effective written and verbal communication; ability to maintain confidentiality. Basic Earned Value Management System competency is a bonus; Process Improvement Specialist knowledge beneficial. Competencies

Ability to work onboard ships in various sea states, including confined spaces and environments with significant noise levels. Willingness to travel to shipyards, docking facilities, and other locations as required. Climb tall ladders, crawl tanks/bilges in confined spaces, inspect from aerial lifts, and work in adverse environments for long periods. Periodically lift up to 50 pounds and be able to walk to/from job sites.
