Performs duties and responsibilities of a Physician Assistant according to standard medical guidelines. Physician Assistant duties will be in OR and Office, approximately 40% OR and 60% Office. Responsibilities
Provide medical services under the supervision of a licensed physician, consistent with the PA\'s education, training and experience. Perform and document accurate, complete, and relevant history and physical assessments appropriate for the patient\'s age, gender, and clinical problem. Order, perform, and interpret laboratory tests and diagnostic studies/procedures in collaboration with physicians and consultants as appropriate. Manage general medical and surgical conditions based on knowledge of etiologies, risk factors, pathophysiology, and the indications/contraindications of pharmacologic agents and other treatments. Prescribe medication safely and effectively in accordance with best practices, hospital policy, and NJ regulations, providing patient education as needed. Seeks opportunities to promote Hackensack Meridian Health PA practice recognition through conferences, publications, and presentations. Provide care that is patient- and family-centered, compassionate, and effective for health promotion and disease treatment. Practice as a healthcare provider according to Medical Staff rules and bylaws as outlined in the delineation of privileges. Apply evidence-based and value-based medicine to improve patient care practices and outcomes. Evaluate patient/family transition of care planning, considering resource utilization, cost, quality, safety and self-management for chronic conditions. Demonstrate clinical expertise through advanced assessment and procedural skills pertinent to the practice specialty. Translate best practices into clinical practice by evaluating current protocols and standards of care. Provide culturally sensitive and educationally appropriate health management education to patients and families. Facilitate coordinated care and clear communication among the healthcare team through daily interdisciplinary rounds. Advocate for patients and families, addressing obstacles to care progression and escalating issues as appropriate. Act as a clinical resource for the multidisciplinary team by addressing clinical, process, and system improvement opportunities. Participate in organizational and departmental meetings, committees, and workgroups as necessary. Demonstrate accountability for professional practice and adhere to ethical principles regarding patient confidentiality, informed consent, and adverse outcomes. Promote a collaborative work environment supporting the organizational mission, values, and pillars. Mentor other PAs, precept students in PA programs, and participate in educational programs as a clinical expert. Identify patient/family educational needs and collaborate to implement appropriate teaching materials. Promote innovation by integrating new clinical knowledge into practice. Participate in clinical research activities and disseminate findings through practice, education, presentations, and publications. Identify ethical care issues and coordinate interdisciplinary meetings to resolve them. Comply with HMH and department-specific scope of services, policies and procedures applicable to the role. Adhere to HMH infection control and safety policies. Other duties and/or projects as assigned. Adhere to HMH organizational competencies and standards of behavior. Qualifications
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Successful completion of an approved physician\'s assistant program, accredited by the AMA Council on Medical Education. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite). Licenses and Certifications Required: Physician Assistant License; National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants; BLS (AHA Basic Life Support) certification. Licenses and Certifications Preferred: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Compensation and Benefits

The posted rate of pay is a reasonable good faith estimate of the minimum base pay at the time of posting and does not reflect the full value of our market-competitive total rewards package. Starting at $148,803.20 annually. In addition to compensation, comprehensive benefits include health, dental, vision, paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and retirement benefits.
