Overview
Adjunct RN Med Surg Clinical Instructor role at Success Education Colleges (SEC). Rotations available on each given day of the week; 12 hours plus 3 hours prep time. Faculty must follow the Nursing Department Handbook and College Handbook, meet BRN requirements, and be approved by BRN. Note: SEC is a family of institutions including Marsha Fuerst School of Nursing, North-West College, Glendale Career College and Nevada Career Institute. Direct patient care and serve as a reliable source of information on evidence-based nursing practices. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team using the nursing process to develop comprehensive plans of care. Identify and prioritize nursing care needs for a select patient population. Conduct comprehensive wellness and illness assessments using evidence-based techniques. Initiate and plan care conferences or programs for individual patients or populations. Design and evaluate educational programs for patients, families, and groups; collect and analyze data to inform program design and outcomes. Establish methods to evaluate and document nursing interventions and their impact on resources. Lead clinical practice and quality improvement initiatives; support shared decision-making and evidence-based practice. Assist with the development and revision of nursing policies, protocols, and procedures; mentor staff to translate research into practice. Provide input for staff evaluation and deliver formal and informal education for nurses and health professionals and students. Lead in nursing research activities and contribute to evaluation of clinical practice and education programs. Qualifications
Current Registered Nurse license to practice in California. Basic Life Support (BLS) required; ACLS & PALS as required by the unit. Certification in area of clinical specialty preferred. Instructor level: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing with clinical focus; experience in didactic and supervised clinical practice; capable of coordinating designated nursing areas in theory and clinical settings. Assistant Instructor: Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related area; approved by BRN. Clinical Teaching Assistant: BRN-approved with at least one year of RN experience in the designated area within the past five years. Two years of nursing experience, with leadership capabilities and ability to adjust schedule to meet patient and staff needs. Clinical knowledge in specialty area; ability to demonstrate expertise within 6 to 12 months if hired in a different clinical area. Strong critical thinking, evidence-based practice skills, and ability to articulate nursing theory and practice. Effective communication in English; strong customer service and teamwork skills; proficient computer skills; ability to work with limited supervision.
