$100,000.00/yr - $135,000.00/yr Insight Global is seeking a Substation Engineer to join one of our top electric clients. The Substation Engineer is responsible for reviewing designed projects to include checking one-lines, schematics, detailed wiring drawings and P&C drawings to provide QA/QC for projects that have been designed by contracted Engineering firms. It will also prepare engineering and design in-house for the construction of new as well as upgrades of existing substations. Responsibilities Conduct engineering design reviews for contracted substation projects and perform QA/QC on checklists, one lines, schematics, detail wiring diagrams, and nameplates. Create standard substation engineering designs to include the design of steel structures, foundations, clearances, layout drawings, grounding, oil containment, lightning protection, schematics, and wiring diagrams. Evaluate equipment ratings, requirements, and project schedules to facilitate the accurate ordering of equipment to support project in service dates. Prepare bills-of-material for the development of material lists to support standard designs. Provide engineering support to employees to assist in their learning of standards, procedures, designs, and specifications. Analyze engineering, construction, and maintenance feedback related to standard designs, equipment, etc., and developing appropriate solutions and alternate design options as needed. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field Extensive experience in a power related engineering field with an emphasis on substation design. Must have strong computer skills and have the knowledge of or the ability to quickly learn the AutoCAD Substation Design Suite programs as well as the Microsoft Office Suite. Must have the ability to read and understand physical and P&C prints, plan and profiles, as well as site grading plans. Experience supporting datacenter new builds Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly desired but not required Compensation: $100-135k Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
