ComEd - Testing and Commissioning Engineering Tech (Chicagoland) role at Exelon. Primary Purpose: Testing and Commissioning engineers are a front-line field engineering force that commissions, maintains, and troubleshoots transmission and distribution level protection and control systems inside ComEd substations. System and equipment types include protective relays, SCADA, substation automation, power and control equipment, fiber-optic, power line carrier, and revenue metering. Primary Duties

Testing and Commissioning engineers are the technical authority in the field. They provide leadership by directing and supporting substation maintenance and contractor crews on work associated with these systems. They interface with ComEd’s Central T&S Engineering, Work Management, Project Management, Operations, Data Maintenance, and Substation Maintenance departments to support the T&S daily work activities. The organization supports substation outage/work planning, maintains engineering drawings, relay/SCADA database management, NERC/CIP audit support, and the engineering PM & CM maintenance programs. They are also strong advocates of the ComEd Safety culture. Conduct Corrective Maintenance, Preventive Maintenance, and project installation testing activities on power equipment. Minimum Qualifications

A bachelor\'s degree in a technical field and 0-3 years of technical experience, an associate\'s degree and 2-5 years of technical experience, or 5-7 years of technical experience or relevant education, if non-degreed or a non-technical degree. Successful completion of the TECH Test. (A Bachelor\'s degree in Engineering from an accredited university exempts the TECH Test requirement.) Good knowledge and experience with regulations, guides, standards, codes, methods, and practices necessary to perform assignments for a specific discipline for maintenance, testing, installation or service Ability to read blueprints and schematics and use basic test instruments Strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills Valid driver\'s license Requires frequent travel to various company substations or other locations within the service territory Must be available to work shifts and respond to emergency situations (7 days per week / 24 hours per day) Relevant education/experience includes military transmission/distribution roles, project management, journey-level electrician or gas technician, field operations, or other utility experience; equivalent education/experience may be considered in addition to minimum requirements.
