Role Overview The Full‑Chip Functional Validation team is looking for an experienced Post‑Silicon Data Fabric Functional Validation Engineer to join a dynamic team responsible for validating Data Fabric IP in next generation AMD EPYC Datacenter CPUs. The Scalable Data Fabric is a critical interconnect feature within AMD Datacenter SOCs, enabling high‑performance and efficient data movement across the chip.
Responsibilities
Validate the Scalable Data Fabric interconnect in AMD EPYC Datacenter CPU SOCs post‑silicon.
Develop comprehensive test plans and stress content for Data Fabric features.
Drive the debug and root‑cause analysis for Data Fabric SoC related issues.
Test cross‑product interactions between various SoC features.
Enhance post‑silicon validation infrastructure including automation environments, configuration checking tools, log analysis frameworks.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to innovate to improve SoC validation, debug efficiency, coverage, and process.
Preferred Experience
5+ years in SoC validation and debug experience
Strong understanding of x86 microprocessor architecture and of server SOC platforms, including firmware, IO, DDR, and system level data coherency
Hands‑on experience in post‑silicon lab environments, including platform bring‑up, debug tools, server operating systems, and virtualized environments
Proven track record in developing validation methodologies and tools
Experience in test plan and workload development
Proficiency in programming and scripting languages (C/C++, Python)
Expertise in silicon bring‑up and debug at both SoC and system levels
Familiarity with server operating systems (Linux, Windows)
Innovative mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and collaborate effectively
Skilled in using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and protocol analyzers
Experience developing validation methodologies, test content, and infrastructure
Ability to design both positive and negative test cases to validate and stress the design.
Academic Credentials
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics, or Computer Science
