Overview
RN Pre OP PACU Endoscopy PRN at Desert Ridge Outpatient Surgery Center. The RN provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Provides total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge. Job Summary: Responsible to plan, execute, and evaluate the nursing care given to patients in the Endoscopy nursing role. Provides patient care within prevailing state standards of practice and according to the policies of the facility. Communicates appropriate information to other team members. Helps maintain equipment, supplies, and general cleanliness of the unit. May have additional responsibilities designated by the manager, which may include but are not limited to providing patient care in other peri-operative departments (Pre-Op, PACU), serving on committees, participating in quality improvement projects. Responsibilities
Provide nursing care to patients in the Endoscopy peri-operative environment, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Monitor patient status during preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases; ensure patient safety, comfort, and privacy. Assist physicians in procedure rooms with tasks, conscious sedation, and sterile techniques as appropriate. Maintain equipment, supplies, and general cleanliness of the unit; comply with facility policies and standards. Coordinate with the healthcare team to ensure efficient patient flow and quality care. Qualifications
Must be a Registered Nurse with an unrestricted license in the state. Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Must have at least 1-3 years of previous experience in PreOP/PACU and Endoscopy; ambulatory surgical center experience strongly preferred. Must have current BLS, ACLS and PALS. Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient. Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation. Ability to quickly adapt to changing patient conditions.
