Overview
UW Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner, Family Practice, for a job in Madison, Wisconsin. Responsibilities
Work with patients with acute and chronic illnesses, specifically hematologic conditions including leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma in the inpatient setting. Conduct comprehensive health history, physical assessment, and management of planned and unplanned inpatient hematology admissions. Perform procedures required for disease evaluation and treatment such as chemotherapy prescribing, bone marrow biopsies with/without conscious sedation, lumbar puncture, and intrathecal chemotherapy administration. Collaborate with inpatient and ambulatory care teams to provide high-quality, cost-effective care. Work Schedule
This is a full-time position with 10-12 hour shifts and a rotating weekend/holiday schedule. Hours may vary based on departmental needs. You will work at the University Hospital in Madison, WI. Education and Experience
Education: If Nurse Practitioner: Master’s or Doctorate degree from an accredited nursing program. If Physician Assistant: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited PA program. Work Experience:
Preferred – Two years of APP ambulatory experience. Licenses and Certifications
Minimum: Nurse Practitioner:
Active RN and APNP license in Wisconsin and active board certification as NP in Adult; Adult/Gerontology Acute Care; Adult/Gerontology Primary Care; Family; or Gerontology. Physician Assistant:
Active PA license in Wisconsin and active PA board certification. All Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant applicants must have an active DEA license or the ability to apply prior to or upon hire. Benefits and Wellbeing
